Future Perfect Continuous = Any action or event that already started in the past, but will finish in the future.

 

 

Future Perfect Continuous

 

Focus the point =

Future Perfect = When work started in the past but will finish in the future.

Future Continuous = When work is in progress. The progress will finish at a specified time.

Future Perfect + Continuous = When the work started, but it is still in progress, and it will finish in the future at a specified time.

 

 

Note Continuous tenses are also called Progressive tenses, so Future Perfect Continuous is also called Future Perfect Progressive.

 

 

Past Perfect Continuous

Rules –

 

  • Will + Have + been + verb 1st form + ing = I, He, she, it, you, we, they, this, that, these, those, there, here, singular noun, and plural nouns, etc.

 

  • Shall + have + been + verb 1st form + ing = I and We.

Future Perfect Continuous

Format –

 

  • Affirmative = Subject + will/shall + have + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words.
  • Negative = Subject + will/shal + have + not + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words.

Short form of Will/Shall + not = Won’t/Shan’t

 

  • Simple Interro = Will/Shall + subject + have + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words?
  • Simple Interro Negative = Will/Shall + subject + not + have + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words?
  • Interrogative = Wh-family + will/shall + subject + have + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words?
  • Interrogative Negative = Wh-family + will/shall + subject + not + have + been + verb 1st form + ing + (other words) + since/for + other words?

 

 

 

Future Perfect Continuous

Definition –

 

 

1. Already Started Progress that Will Finish in the Future = The action or event already started in the past, but the progress is still going in the present, and that progress will finish in the future at a specified time; we use Future Perfect Continuous.

 

 

e.g. –

  • Next year, they will have been working there for 20 years. (Progress started in the past and will finish next year.)
  • The company will have been firing 20 workers by next month. (Progress started in the past and will finish by next month.)
  • Tomorrow, he will have been cleaning the car for 90 days. (Progress started in the past and will finish tomorrow.)

 

  • The kid will have been doodling this drawing for 10 minutes. (Progress started in the past and will finish within 10 minutes) (means: It starts and finishes within 10 minutes.)

Suppose, it starts 2 minutes ago then it will finish in the next 8 minutes. (2 + 8 = 10 minutes)

or

Suppose, it starts 5 minutes ago then it will finish in the next 5 minutes. (5 + 5 = 10 minutes)

 

  • Next week, she won’t have been calling him for 3 months. (Progress started in the past, and will finish next week.)
